Based in Melbourne, Victoria, this dynamic duo have won awards such as the International Woolmark Prize and licence, further gaining the prestigious title of being globally recognised and praised as ‘Australian Made’. How have they achieved such impressive accolades? Well, not only do they use 100% Australian Merino Wooldraft; a natural, renewable and biodegradable fabric for sustainable fashion practices, they also draft, cut and sew their designs using eco-friendly procedures, playing their part to minimise waste whilst maximising the lifespan of a garment. This is done through taking off-cuts and creating stylish, one-of-a-kind designs for custom orders, as well as their striking initiative ‘Art Series’ where they use the waste they acquire to create art pieces that invoke inspiring conversations.
As if that wasn’t enough, not only are their designs environmentally neutral, they also radiate a gender neutrality that further emphasise their brand as a sign of the times, a reflection of the future, a platform for those whose voices shout the loudest but are softened by passé restraints. Nature vs Humanity, Man vs Woman, though instead of closing themselves off or banking on one perspective, Strateas Carlucci takes these archaic divides and unifies them through the universal language of fashion, producing a lifelong co-existence with all living beings through the aesthetic of their iconic charm and beauty.
